Senior Care Support Worker

Responsibilities;

  • Work closely with the care manager to provide excellent guest focused support, deputising to cover annual leave
  • Ensure rotas are in place with any amendments being actively signed off
  • Implement and monitor services and provisions according to policy and procedure
  • Be able to provide medication and maintain records
  • Strive to support the care team in providing the very best in person focussed care support
  • Be able to deputise and coordinate the service when absence requires
  • Provide direct supervision to support staff
  • Provide on-site coaching and mentoring to staff
  • Lead staff in writing, implementing and reviewing support plans which reflect the interests and wishes of the individual
  • Identify staff training requirements and plan to meet these in conjunction with the care manager
  • Facilitate person centred planning as required
  • Senior support workers will be required to participate in local on-call and sleepover arrangements where service needs dictate

Key Skills/Experience;

  • Applicants will be required to have at least 2 years experience in a service setting and previous management experience will be an advantage
  • Be able to work as part of a team in an open, positive and inclusive culture
  • Promote and support inclusion throughout the service with the ability to promote leisure opportunities in the community so good knowledge of the area is required
  • The ability to adapt quickly to the needs of the person you are providing support for
  • Practical experience in providing personal support is essential as this is role that will require the applicant to provide support for both personal and social support

Position Details;

  • This position requires a minimum of level 3 NVQ in Health & Social Care
  • Relevant experience is essential as this will be an instant start position, company training will be provided but knowledge regarding the care industry and experience providing support will be essential
  • Wages will be negotiated depending on experience, will be discussed at interview
